Welcome to Ionia Media, Inc., doing business as Story Prism ("Story Prism," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, writing platform, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, accessing the Service, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
1. Account Registration
To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information, violate these Terms, create risk for the Service or other users, or are otherwise used in a manner we reasonably believe is abusive, unlawful, or harmful.
2. Subscription Plans and Payment
We offer tiered subscription plans with different features, generation limits, and pricing. By subscribing, you agree to the fees, limits, and billing terms associated with your selected plan.
7-Day All-Access Trial
New accounts may be eligible for a one-time 7-day All-Access Trial. During the trial, you may receive access to Premium-tier features. At the end of the 7-day trial, your account will automatically transition to the Free Plan unless you activate a paid subscription.
Subscription Tiers
Free Plan
Following the expiration of the 7-day trial, the Free Plan includes full access to the document editor, unlimited canvas use and creation, and access to all writing templates. The Free Plan does not include AI model generations.
Basic Plan ($10/mo or $96/yr)
Includes 1,000 Base Generations per month, all templates, Document Upload, and Auto-tagging.
Standard Plan ($20/mo or $192/yr)
Includes 1,000 Base Generations and 300 Core Generations per month, plus 8 Advanced Reasoning Generations per 3-hour rolling window. Includes all templates, Document Upload, and Auto-tagging.
Premium Plan ($40/mo or $384/yr)
Includes 1,000 Base Generations and 750 Core Generations per month, plus 15 Advanced Reasoning Generations per 3-hour rolling window. Includes all templates, Document Upload, and Auto-tagging.
3. Rolling Usage Limits for Advanced Reasoning Models
Standard and Premium plans include Advanced Reasoning Generations governed by a rolling time window rather than a daily reset.
Standard Plan: 8 Advanced Reasoning Generations per 3-hour rolling window.
Premium Plan: 15 Advanced Reasoning Generations per 3-hour rolling window.
Each Advanced Reasoning Generation resets exactly 3 hours after the specific time it was used. Unused capacity does not roll over or accumulate beyond the applicable limit.
4. AI Model Tiers and Availability
Story Prism groups available AI assistants into tiers based on speed, quality, and reasoning capability.
Base Models are designed for rapid brainstorming, world-building, and quick drafting.
Core Models are designed for more nuanced prose, scene work, and character development.
Advanced Reasoning Models are designed for deeper narrative analysis, complex problem-solving, and logic-intensive creative work.
Model names, providers, and tier assignments may change over time. We may update, add, remove, or reclassify models at any time in order to maintain performance, availability, reliability, cost sustainability, or service quality.
5. Billing and Refunds
Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis and automatically renew unless canceled before the next billing cycle through your account settings or other available cancellation method.
Payments are processed through Stripe or another designated payment processor. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable.
We may change pricing, plan structures, usage limits, features, or billing terms prospectively. Any such changes will apply beginning with a future billing cycle unless otherwise stated.
6. Use of the Service and AI Generations
The Service may provide AI-generated responses, suggestions, analyses, and other outputs ("Generations"). Generations may be offered across Base, Core, and Advanced Reasoning tiers.
Your use of the Service must be lawful and consistent with these Terms.
7. Fair Use
Story Prism is intended for individual, manual, human use unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing. We may throttle, suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that display behavior suggesting automation, scraping, bot activity, abusive usage patterns, account sharing abuse, or other activity that degrades the Service for other users or creates unreasonable system load.
Unused monthly generations do not roll over unless expressly stated otherwise.
8. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or abusive purposes;
- upload, submit, or generate content in violation of applicable law or the rights of others;
- attempt to reverse engineer, probe, crawl, scrape, interfere with, or disrupt the Service or its underlying systems;
- bypass, disable, or interfere with rate limits, security features, usage controls, or access restrictions;
- resell, sublicense, lease, white-label, or redistribute the Service or access to it without our prior written permission;
- use the Service to develop or improve a competing product or service through unauthorized extraction or systematic collection of outputs or platform behavior.
9. User Content and Ownership
Your Ownership
You retain full ownership of your original content and project materials. Story Prism does not claim ownership of your work.
License to Operate the Service
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, display, and otherwise use your content solely as needed to provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
You represent and warrant that you have the rights necessary to upload, use, and authorize our processing of any content you submit to the Service.
10. Data Privacy and Model Processing
Story Prism does not use your content to train its own internal AI models.
To provide AI-powered features, we may send prompts, workspace content, uploaded materials, extracted text, and related data to third-party providers that help us operate the Service, including model providers, storage providers, hosting providers, analytics providers, and observability providers.
Provider-specific data practices may differ. If you explicitly choose a DeepSeek model, additional provider-specific considerations apply as described in our Privacy Policy.
By using the Service, you authorize us to process your content and to transmit it to the third-party providers and infrastructure services reasonably necessary to operate the Service.
Our Privacy Policy explains in more detail how we collect, use, retain, and disclose information.
11. Optional DeepSeek Models
Certain DeepSeek models may be offered as an optional feature. This section applies only if you explicitly choose a DeepSeek model.
If you select a DeepSeek model, you instruct us to send the content needed to fulfill your request to DeepSeek for processing. DeepSeek is optional, and DeepSeek-specific privacy and data-handling considerations are described in our Privacy Policy.
Do not use DeepSeek models for highly sensitive personal information or for medical, legal, financial, or other high-stakes content.
12. AI Output Disclaimer
The Service uses AI systems that generate probabilistic outputs. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, biased, offensive, or otherwise unsuitable for your intended use.
You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying any content generated through the Service before relying on it, distributing it, publishing it, or using it in any personal, commercial, legal, medical, financial, or other high-stakes setting.
We do not endorse or guarantee the accuracy, legality, originality, or suitability of AI-generated output.
13. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party providers for payments, AI processing, storage, hosting, observability, analytics, and integrations. These providers may include:
- OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, and, if you explicitly choose that option, DeepSeek;
- Stripe;
- Google Drive API;
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, including Object Storage;
- Langfuse;
- Google Analytics;
- Facebook Pixel; and
- Microsoft Clarity.
These third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their independent practices.
14. Intellectual Property
The Service itself, including its software, code, user interface, visual design, branding, logos, templates, workflows, and other platform materials, is owned by Ionia Media, Inc. or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property and other applicable laws.
Except as expressly permitted by these Terms, you may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, license, or create derivative works from the Service or any part of it.
15. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk or liability for us or others, engaged in abusive conduct, failed to pay required fees, or used the Service in a manner that could harm the Service or other users.
You may stop using the Service at any time and may cancel your subscription in accordance with the billing terms above.
Upon termination, your right to access and use the Service will cease, but provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
16. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Story Prism disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Story Prism will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill, or business interruption arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
17. Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we may suspend or terminate the account and delete associated data as required by applicable law.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice by email, through the Service, or by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
